Monday 11th March 2024
Dear Centre Members, Aligned HDR Colleagues, and Allied Members,
Week 2 of trimester 1 and hopefully teaching commitments are falling into place.
Also, a long weekend – celebrating Labour Day! What a treat to receive public holidays and to be able to spend time with family and friends out of doors…possibly! Although what a hot weekend. While hot weather is common this time of year the high temperatures were considered extreme. “The Bureau of Meteorology said it was the worst March heatwave since 1942” (ABC News). Interesting language – the worst heatwave…. Our colleagues in Warrnambool were the hottest!
This week the CRF prepares for our first Regenerator – the Strategiser – to be held next Monday. Please self-nominate if you would like to share your project pitch. Thanks to Kate Greer for a great Futures Forum last week and welcome as an Allied member. Also welcome to a new PhD student Leigh Johnson (working with Joe Ferguson and Russell Tytler).
There are a lot of opportunities for engagement presented in this newsletter. If you missed the Future’s Forum with Kate Greer’s on Stepping up, not Standing back, we’re providing the recording. We hope that you enjoy engaging with this week’s news.
Best wishes
Jo and Peta
