Dear Centre Members, Aligned HDR Colleagues, and Allied Members,

What a year… Jo and I feel pleased with the CRF developments, achievements, and outcomes… and we hope you do too.  We feel CRF is co-constructing a community that is actively engaging in a wide range of important considerations and undertaking practices that are engaging and inclusive. We are attempting to provide opportunities for you to continue to build your capacity as researchers through targeted strategies and funding. We are growing our networks to develop a broad ranging community that can interact and mentor.

The CRF has just had our budget approved for 2025. Our program has not deviated from the initial planning (2 yeas ago) and we are looking forward to generating a comprehensive report next year that showcases our achievements across three years. We will be making plans for how to manage this reporting early in the new year.

We have also been focussing on our planning for 2025.  Please see the list of what is already underway below.  We will continue to develop our events and we will send out calendar invites as plans firm up.

As always, we welcome your suggestions for Centre events and activities. Please add ideas and thoughts via our shared inbox regenerating.futures@deakin.edu.au

We have also generated a showcase of the quite amazing Critical Forest Collaboratory in Sherbrooke Forest On Country day we spent together last Wednesday 11th December.  Eighteen CRF members or allied members joined us in Sherbrooke Forest for a day of exploration, activity, yummy food, and great discussion. Please see images, thoughts, and an audio recording of one of the lyrebirds we encountered.

As we conclude this year we would like to thank you for your membership and engagement, and for making this the valuable research community.

Best wishes for the festive season, and enjoy your break!
