Dear Centre Members, Aligned HDR Colleagues, and Allied Members,

As we move through Gurru Grass Flowering Season (November) we notice that the weather is warming and it is raining often. The Kangaroo Grass is flowering. Coranderrk (Victorian Christmas Bush) is coming into flower. Male Common Brown butterflies are flying. Buliyong (bats) are catching insects in flight. Balayang, the Creation Being, is also referred to as the bat. The Orion constellation is setting in the western sky around sunrise. Eastern Kulin Nation seasonal calendar from the Victorian Museum see here.

Coranderrk – Victorian Christmas bush (Prostanthera lasianthos) in flower, Common Brown Butterfly (Heteronympha merope) adult, Buliyong – Bat (Vespertilionidae)

It is the time of year that we prepare for kin who prefer to not be disturbed and use venom as deterrents to interruptions… Buarth (snake). If interactions occur and result in snake bite – medical kits are available for purchase from the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RDFS) (see here). The key medical strategy is to immobilise the limb to not spread the venom around the body. This kit is also the burns kit – which makes it highly useful for the active academic! Of course, avoidance of negative interactions with Buarth is a better practice – a good practice for observational skills.

The CRF is pleased to introduce a new strategy for the wrap up of this year – the “Goal Setter” is an opportunity for CRF members only (apologies to our HDR colleagues and our allied members). Please read below for the details. This strategy is conducted individually and must be completed by the 13th December.

Don’t forget to connect with COP29 – on right now… see here.

A shout out to our Enabler recipients this year… please have all expenses spent and recouped by the 30th November.

Best wishes
