Dear Centre Members, Aligned HDR Colleagues, and Allied Members,

Thanks to Charlotte Hankin for a wonderful Futures Forum last week – please see the link to the recording below. Also thanks to the Decolonising Knowledges and Practices team who lead the Reading Group – it was a great discussion based on some really engaging provocations.

We announce our next Futures Forum in this newsletter with Dr Cassandra Tytler and the details for the next Decolonising Knowledges and Practices reading Group are below as well.

We are pleased to announce 2 more Post Doctoral – Enabler Grants. These small grants are designed to support post PhD colleagues to take one more step forward with their research. They are supported by a CI from the CRF. The four people we are supporting are amazing… and their work will contribute to the CRF outcomes.

This week Peta White is in Singapore – for meetings with the Science and Environmental Science Expert Group regarding the OECD PISA – Programme of International Student Assessment. In 2025, 15 year olds all over the world will participate in the PISA – Science. While the data will reveal young people’s capability on a range of science competencies (and other domain), the potential importance of the PISA is that countries may reconsider their curricula – and they may infuse more socio-ecological understanding in the science curriculum.

Jo Raphael is travelling on her Academic Study leave and last week presented research on the Artefacts of the Future project at the WAAE Global Summit in Athens on behalf of colleagues in this CRF project.

In this newsletter we share some research findings about the importance of exercise. We trust that you are looking after yourself and making time to stay healthy.

Best wishes

Peta and Jo
