Monday 7th October 2024

Dear Centre Members, Aligned HDR Colleagues, and Allied Members,

This week is our On Country event at Wurdi Youang. We are now looking at the weather and hoping for comfortable weather in Poorneet. It is a bit disappointing that Thursday does not forecast the day of sunshine that Wednesday is… and that Thursday is, in fact, forecast to have either wind or rain. However, this could change… So we are planning for all eventualities – see the notes below. Plus, aren’t we out on Country to experience all aspects of Country including the weather?

We have had one application for our “Post Doctoral” program with one more in development. We have three more to grant for this year. We also have some Enabler funding left if you need to get a graphic designed for your next publication or want some assistance with a project application. Read the details below.

HDR Colleagues – please consider being involved in our event in November with Sarah Firth. The experience has been described as exhilarating by previous HDR Colleagues. The outcome (a graphics recording of your PhD research) is certainly worth it. See below for details.

The Regenerator is coming and promises to be one useful for those planning ARC applications and developing research partnerships in the near future.

We have an update on the Decolonising Knowledges and Practices Strand – Reading Group with a slight change in date and all of the provocations named.

A Futures Forum is coming up – thanks to Charlotte Hankin – who will be joining us from Bali -where she lives.

There is a lot going on and we hope that this newsletter assists you to craft your experiences in meaningful ways.

Best wishes to all for a great week!
