We concluded a big week for CRF members last week with the Decolonising Knowledges and Practices Reading Group. This group meets again on Monday 2nd September. Details will be out soon regarding the reading and provocation. We also hosted a double up with two great Futures Forums about the Metacrisis – with colleagues Ruth Irwin and Thomas Everth from Aotearoa New Zealand – the recordings of both are included below.

Monday 26th August, 2024

Dear Centre Members, Aligned HDR Colleagues, and Allied Members,

Womenjeka – welcome and come with purpose!

Not sure how these things are initiated – but the 25th August is the National Banana Split Day, 26th August is National Dog Day (now that we can get behind), and then… 27th August is the  National Petroleum Day!  Gosh!

This week the Centre hosts a Futures Forum about Climate Fiction – in preparation for our CliFi Retreat (early September) – see more detail below. Please email the Centre in box if you want to attend.

The Centre is offering a Climate Change Education Forum in Ballarat today and tomorrow (Monday / Tuesday). We are collaborating with Sustainability Victoria and the Department of Education… and the Earth Education Science Centre. We hope to have about 60 students (year 5 – 8) from local schools involved. The Time to Act and Artefact of the Future projects form the program and we hope local industry representatives will be involved. We will include some images in our newsletter next week.

Best wishes

Jo and Peta
