Monday 5th August, 2024

Dear Centre Members, Aligned HDR Colleagues, and Allied Members,

The CRF signature events – our On Country Days – are now planned, and promise to be rewarding days for building our research community.  Please consider if you can make it and use the calendar invites to register. The next one is at Port Phillip Bay – St Kilda on the 14th August. Please come along and connect with colleagues and Country. This event will provide grounding and insights and a wonderful lunch at a local cafe.

Sometimes we look at online calendars to remind us about the “celebrated days” for the week we are in. This week is a smash of National Mustard day! National Oyster day! And National Dash Cam Day! What a lovely reminder about the anthropocentric world we live in!  A shout out to the US who are celebrating National Night Out day – although this event (celebrated on the first Tuesday night in August since 1984) is actually about community watch practices! See here for reminders about how to celebrate being human.

Putting our sarcasm away, we have much to celebrate this week. A fabulous book has been published Open Access by Centre members, webinars hosted, events organised, opportunities a-plenty. There is lots to be involved with in the CRF – choose your own adventure.

If you have suggestions and ideas, please reach out to Jo and Peta using the CRF inbox regeneratingfutures@deakin.edu.au

Best wishes,

Peta and Jo
