Dear Centre Members, Aligned HDR Colleagues, and Allied Members,

With school holidays wrapping up again many of us settle into the business part of the year. We also notice the autumnal cooling and many of us are lucky to be experiencing increasing rainfall. CRF spare some thoughts for the dry/drying ecosystems in Western Australia and the inundation again experienced in some parts of NSW. Discussing climate impacts has become as common as discussing the weather. It is useful to remember that climate and weather are not the same thing… and it’s the rate of change that is at the crux of Anthropocene challenges.

Join us this week (Wednesday 17th April at 3.30pm) to consider an ARC Centre of Excellence project – Plants 4 Space – that attends to food production and our entanglement with plant species in our Futures Forum.

Our on-Country days spent together are a key part of our creating our Centre research community.  Join us next week for our On Country day (Tuesday 23rd April)  as we engage in ecosomatic practices… if you are not sure what this means.. .come along and experience the connection between body, earth, all living things and each other. We will also bring to share some foods from our home (grown, made, prepared or locally sourced). This will be a special treat for us all.

Thanks for sharing so much great news with us – we hope that you find connections and interest throughout the newsletter and CRF activities.

Apologies for this not coming on Monday – Jo is away and Peta got distracted… Hope to see you later today for the Futures Forum with Frazer.

We wish you a wonderful week.

Jo and Peta
