RF Newsletter #8 – Tuesday 26th May 2026
Dear Regenerating Futures Colleagues!
Trimester 1 has come to an end, and now the marking season begins. For this and other reasons, we have had to reschedule our June On Country and RF Retreat. Please see below for the update on rescheduling plans.
This week we enjoyed a fantastic Futures Forum with Jo-Anne Britt and Emma Martison on Micro bats and Flying Foxes: activating arts, science and ecology for community education, projects involving schools and communities on the Surf Coast. The recording is provided below (see here).
The next Futures Forum coming up on 18th June will come to you all the way from Jaipur, India with Vishal Kumar on “The Anthropocene in the Language Classroom”.
RISING 2026 begins in Melbourne this week. This is Melbourne’s major winter arts and culture festival, transforming the city from May 27 to June 8. This year’s program features over 100 events, including the inaugural Australian Dance Biennale. We have included some dance and theatre performances related to our Regenerating Futures themes for some arts nourishment.
The RF projects are moving forward with the employment of Anna Wiley to our team – as research assistant! If you are interested in being involved in any planning or designing of events and activities – please be in touch.
The RF Incubator continues with our 15 participants and is generating a closer community of support for individual research leadership and programming.
DECRA rejoinders are back this week and the RF wishes Danni Hradsky and Ethan Gordon the best of luck with them!
Best wishes,
Peta and Jo
