2026 Newsletter 6

Dear Regenerating Futures Colleagues!

Having navigated ANZAC Day, we now settle into the final weeks of trimester 1 with the beginnings of preparations for trimester 2 with all that comes when these things meet. In the space between, a group of members carved out time to connect at our On Country Day #1 at Willum Warrain, reported with images below.

The Regenerating Futures faculty group is pleased to announce that we are funded for 2026 with 4 major projects. We will carefully outline them over the next few newsletters. We are funded to host a Graduate Researcher event (see the calendar below likely in October) as well as two engagement and impact projects across this year. Our fourth research project is related to the Cultural Regenerative Universities project the RF has been enjoying all of last year. We have just submitted our ARC DP 27 full application – after being successfully shortlisted earlier this year. We wish that application every success (rejoinders are out in June). More details will come soon to describe the opportunities to build capacity and community through our RF projects across this year.

In preparation for May, we are pleased to offer two Futures Forum – one international and one home-grown – both incredible colleagues doing important and innovative research. We also host our second Strategiser – focusing on our annual research plan – derived from our five-year strategic research plan. Of course, the Decolonising Reading group continues to inspire and ensure space for discussion and exploration of ideas.

Best wishes,Peta and Jo
