Dear Centre Members, HDR Colleagues, and Allied members,

This is a big week for the CRF – we hosted our On Country Day #2 yesterday at Common Ground – on Wadawurrung Country at Freshwater Creek near Geelong! This was a chance to engage in a warm data workshop as we considered What is food in an ever changing world? See below for images from our day.

The CRF is participating in a Culturally Regenerative Universities project with 6 other universities around Australia. We will start our appreciative collaborative inquiry in July – find out more below and if you want to be involved in our CRF leadership group, please let us know via our inbox.

To our staff CRF members, did you see this just out on WAM? – see here… there are now principles for determining research allocation beyond the 40% research allocation provided in the Faculty of Arts and Education Workload Allocation Model. From the Faculty… The purpose of these principles is that the faculty is keen to encourage an appropriate balance of activities for colleagues reflecting the adoption of 40/40/20 as the basic framework for allocating tasks. However, we are also keen to encourage ambitious research projects which may require colleagues to seek funding that would increase the proportion of time needed for research.

Today we can enjoy a Futures Forum with Canadian colleague Cher Hills on How to Love a Forest and next week we enjoy a Futures Forum with another Canadian colleague – Kat Riley on Decolonizing Physical Literacy for Human and Planetary Well-Being. See details below.

We also reveal the details and invite registration for the Warrnambool retreat below. It will be the 11th – 13th June and we’ve got some great plans… a useful mix of your own writing/research time and community engagement. There is a collaborative manuscript opportunity too. Register now on the link below – get in quick accommodation is limited and registration closes on the 28th May cob!

Wishing you well as Trimester One draws to a close. Have a great fortnight.
