Wednesday 23rd April, 2025
Dear Centre Members, HDR Colleagues, and Allied members,
Happy day after Earth Day! Earth Day has been celebrated on 22nd April since 1970, so this is the 55th year! This year’s theme is Our Power, Our Planet.
We trust you are enjoying our planet and some wellbeing on your intra-trimester break. Maybe this is a welcome treat for when you return from well earned leave. We’ve been enjoying some leaves of the plant variety, Jo spent a few days on Gunai Kurnai Country and Peta is on Kaniyang Boodja.
Coming up next week we have a Futures Forum with Kathryn Riley on Decolonizing Physical Literacy for Human and Planetary Well-Being on the 29th April @ 10am (Kat is located in Manitoba, Canada). On the 1st May we host our first Regenerator event for this year! We have invited Dr Louise Gwenneth Phillips to lead a session called Amplifying research/er outreach: Planetary explorations. We intend to connect into our CRF strategy and to collaborate to map future trajectories while building our skills and growing our networks. We also have the opportunity to enjoy the CRF Decolonising Reading Group’s next gathering on Friday 2nd May, always a great yarn – see the links below for the readings.
Please note the new date for our On Country day at Common Ground regenerative farm and social enterprise on 19th May – check your calendar and details are below.
Plans are coming together for the CRF Retreat – we are heading to Warrnambool where we will collaborate, be in community, make space for ourselves, and explore Country (hopefully via canoe). We are planning the retreat to work with public transport and we plan to stay at the Warrnambool campus.
You can read below for details on all about these events and more, including calls for contributions for 3 exciting conferences and as usual, the links to Enabler funding to help progress your research.
Don’t forget to submit your proposal for the School of Education Research Conference – if you plan to attend (due by the 3rd May).
Warm regards,
Jo & Peta
