Dear Centre Members, HDR Colleagues, and Allied members,
This week we will hold our first of four On Country events for the year. Although it can be difficult to carve out time for these days, those who attend always report that it is time well spent. On Thursday we’ll be taking some time before the start of Trimester 1 for walking and sharing research, the arts, culture, yarning and food on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung Country, Naarm. The details are below, and in the calendar invitation. Please be sure your attendance intention is up to date in the calendar so we know the numbers attending and can book for our meal together at Mabu Mabu’s Big Esso. We have been wanting to meet/eat at Mabu Mabu for a long time and are pleased it is working out for this event.
With so much that is happening in the world that is disconcerting or downright depressing, it is heartening to see so many initiatives and opportunities to join others in regenerative projects and events towards more positive futures. This newsletter is full of suggestions!
We’re also sharing a wide range of research funding opportunities at the Centre, School, Faculty levels as well as national projects and international post-doc research opportunities. Read on and find something that’s just right for you at this time. There’s even a library tip for you.
This week marks orientation week at Deakin University – a time to welcome our news cohort of students – and next week classes begin, our campuses are coming alive again. We wish you all a wonderful start to the trimester.
Warm wishes,
Jo & Peta
