Dear Centre Members, HDR Colleagues, and Allied members,
As COP30 wraps up in Belém, Brazil, we can celebrate. The Climate Literacy framework was launched at COP30 and deemed a big success! See the presentation by Andreas Schleicher here. He says, “Education is the steering wheel and classrooms are the laboratories of the future and engines of climate courage! We need critical and collective thinking to lead courageously! Climate Literacy – a new kind of literacy!” With a new framework from PISA! This is great leadership from the OECD PISA!
We are still waiting to hear IF COP31 will come to Adelaide, Australia – lets hope it does. If it comes this way – it will be a big focus for us next year!
Back at home with the CRF, we are looking forward to the 4th and final On Country Day for 2025 on 25th November. This is a final opportunity to engage with fellow researchers for a truly regenerative day. We are constructing nature-informed cyanotypes, engaging in a play reading as part of the CCTA international festival, walking in the bush, learning with the ecosystem and Alex Maisey (our resident ecologist), breathing in the mountain air, bathing in the forest and enjoying a yummy lunch with research colleagues at Corks on Cook’s Corner. Please see the details of this fabulous day below and RSVP through the calendar invitation.
The CRF has been busy hosting our third successful HDR Picture your Research event last Thursday – see below. We’ve been planning our Strategiser, for strategically planning for future research projects, grants and outcomes (see below). Those who expressed interest have been contacted.
We have also been busy taking account of the work done in the CRF over the last three years (see our website) – thanks to Mariel Flores Lima for collaborating on this reporting project. We look forward to hosting our focus group interview asap to collect our impact data. We will then present our report map! Stay tuned!
We eagerly await news of the faculty research ecology review and we wonder what might be the outcome for the CRF – as soon as we know – you will know.
As you will see from the list of special dates below, tomorrow is World Toilet Day. We should never take for granted the privilege of a working sanitary toilet. Use it well!
Warm regards,
Jo & Peta
