Newsletter #19 – 7th October 2025
Dear Centre Members, HDR Colleagues, and Allied members,
Do you aspire to belong to a university that functions in a place-based culturally regenerative way? In 10 days time the CRF Culturally Regenerative Universities Project Team is hosting a CRF Regenerator inspired by experiences of participating in the Culturally Regenerative Universities (CRU) project over the last six months. You are invited to join for an introduction to the CRU and the Delama Dja walk on the Waurn Ponds campus to practice relating with place and immersing in respectful, relational ways of learning together. The team is looking forward to sharing what they have been learning through a cooperative / appreciative inquiry, which has run alongside cooperative inquiries at five other universities. The details for joining are below, RSVP required.
Also coming up in the next week is the invitation to be part of the faculty research review consultation process, including the Faculty Research Review workshops on this Thursday, 9 October. Details below.
If you are interested in a night at the theatre for the Melbourne Fringe Festival, you can’t go past The Weathering, a reflection on climate, extreme weather and resilience as a contemporary experimental theatre performance devised by Fusion Theatre. Fusion is an inclusive ensemble of actors with and without disability that has a long association with Deakin University, since its origins 28 years ago. Jo Raphael is co-directing this production with Deakin alumna Darcy McGaw. The details are below.
As you’ll see, there is lots more coming up later in October, with two more Futures Fora, the 17th October Decolonising Reading Group and many more events shared by our members. Enjoy!
Warm regards,
Jo & Peta
