Dear Centre Members, HDR Colleagues, and Allied members,
This week the CRF Artefacts of the Future Project has been in full swing. Primary students have been considering sustainable living and possible futures through art and design, culminating in an exhibition of over 100 primary students’ artefacts at the Gordon Gallery in Geelong as part of Nature Week. This has coincided with the school holidays and a chance for families and community members to engage in creating and making while envisioning possible futures. Next, we bring part of this exhibition and creativity to our CRF members and friends as part of On Country Day #3 on Wednesday 23 July at the Waterfront campus A+B spaces. See below for the details, and the invitation in your calendar. Come along and add a creative spark to your week.
The On Country day is held at our Waterfront campus – with easy access via the train. We will cater for you and the day stands to be really engaging and thoughtful. We will resend the calendar invite – please let us know if you are coming.
In this newsletter we offer many news items and events including an opportunity for considering experimenting with an ecology of curious practices as regenerative, relational inquiry through a Futures Forum with Bron Sutton on 30 July.
We are also calling out for any CRF academics (members) interested in accessing funding for research projects. We would like to host a small working group where research leaders join together to work through the Deakin systems that are established to enable large Cat 1 grant applications. Please email the inbox if interested in being involved.
We have the Culturally Regenerative Universities project starting this next week. We have 6 learning events you are invited to attend. We learn from colleagues about: cooperative inquiry, Aboriginal cultural regeneration, culturally regenerative universities, and speaking with and for the more-than-human.
There are many activities to brighten the dark winter weeks. Most importantly… stay well – there are lurgies around and it is time to rest and boost immunity.
Best wishes,
Peta and Jo
