Tuesday 1st July, 2025
Dear Centre Members, HDR Colleagues, and Allied members,
This is a big week for many of us and for many reasons…The CRF co-hosted the Festival of Embodiment yesterday (30th June) at Deakin Downtown – see story in this newsletter. The Australasian Science Education Research Association (ASERA) Conference is being held at Deakin Downtown on Tuesday – Friday. CRF members are presenting in a symposium about art/science interactions.
Around this, trimester 2 is igniting… and it is NAIDOC Week! A time to celebrate and recognise our First Nations colleagues.
The CRF is starting to strategise our next moves as our Faculty again shifts the research ecology in response to Deakin’s research strategy – see here. We set our reporting plans in place (see article in the newsletter) and Jo and Peta will be holding meetings to work out the best ways forward. If you have insights or are interested in being involved – please be in touch via our shared inbox regeneratingfutures@deakin.edu.au
There is lots going on in the CRF right now… a Regenerator coming up – our 3rd On Country day – located in Geelong (at our Waterfront campus and in conjunction with the Geelong Nature Festival). See all the details below.
If you have a colleague you would like to invite as a Future Forum – please do. We are very open to hearing useful provocations from all CRF members and your colleagues.
Congrats to Olivia Millard, Raffaele Rufo, Abigail Benham-Bannon who were just awarded an Enabler called Embodied Practice – Sustainability – Decolonisation.
Best wishes,
Peta and Jo
